This is my entry for the GMTK Jam 2023, being finished now GMTK is a very popular youtube channel that stands for game makers tool kit. He makes videos breaking down game design of many games, sometimes even getting developer interviews. Once a year he hosts a game jam with a unique theme. The theme for this game jam was roles reversed, so we thought instead of using weapons to defeat enemies, you shoot yourself to defeat enemies, as well as move.

Feedback

Some of the feedback we got is that the control system was confusing as it wasn’t communicated as well as it could have been. I’ve kept this in mind for subsequent jams I’ve done, where even if there isnt time to add an in game tutorial, i make sure to add one in the description of the submission.

It was really cool to see people give their best times. I think in the end the best time someone got was 45 seconds to beat the whole thing, whittled down from one of the first people who did it in 4 minutes.

After all the voting we got around 1100th place, which out of 7000 contestants is 25th percentile of all entires, which I am incredibly proud of.
